6-Year-Old British Girl Sets Guinness World Record for Being Youngest Female Author

Bella Jay Dark, a six-year-old British girl, vows to continue penning books. What was her reason? She told Khaleej Times, "I enjoy that I can inspire people.

Bella holds the Guinness World Record for being the youngest female author, having released her first book at 5. She said that, as a result of her, her classmates had started writing.

Bella remarked, "I have a buddy named Poppy. She informed me that she started writing stories because I write, and I was overjoyed. Although she hasn't published it, she is a writer.

After releasing her second book, Snowy's Birthday Party, the little girl, her parents, and her sister Lacey, age nine, are in the UAE to participate in the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF). Her most recent novel and her first, The Lost Cat, are both inspired by her own pets. Bella spoke to a class of students and described the themes of her books:

Bella's most recent book emphasizes that friendships are more significant than possessions. She explained, "It's about a birthday celebration and how individuals have to learn to put their friends before everything else. Her own group of six close pals served as inspiration for some of it.

"We play together," she remarked. When it's raining, "sometimes we pick daisies, and other times we just play on the concrete."

Bella chooses to hand-write her books rather than typing them on a computer. She writes her own stories, draws them, and takes a "hands-on approach" to the book's layout.

Chelsie Syme's mother described her as a "very determined child." She is quite clear about the appearance she wants for the book and its pages. Therefore, we keep negotiating with the publishers until she is satisfied.

Chelsie said that neither she nor Myles Dark, Bella's husband, had any plans to publish Bella's book; instead, Bella took the initiative. Chelsie explained, "She brought copies of her work to the fair while we were going to a book fair to support a family member. She approached a publisher there and stated her desire to get her works published.

Bella has been working on her novels ever since, and the third one is anticipated to be published later this year. She said, "It's called Snowy and the Lily Pad Frog." But I'm afraid I'm at a loss for words. In addition, I have a concept for my fourth novel.

Bella was young when she became interested in reading, according to Chelsie. "We have always read books together," she affirmed. But I never thought she would eventually start writing them.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is Bella's favorite book series, but what truly makes her smile is when others in her class choose to read one of her novels during class reading time. She added that it makes me extremely pleased that they occasionally argue over who gets to read it.

Being able to transform her thoughts into novels, according to Bella, is what she enjoys about book writing the most. She said, "I get to decide what happens in it. "I have the option of naming it. If I ever get tired of penning cat stories, I might start writing about dogs.

English, Dutch, German, and Swedish translations of her debut book, The Lost Cat, are also available.
